Balustrades

At South East Queensland Frameless Glass we are proud to be able to offer the following balustrade options;

» Frameless Glass

Using glass that is either “pin fixed” to the vertical face of the structure, located on “mini posts” or fixed via means of a rebate. The current BCA states that you require a handrail at all times and there are several different approaches to the handrail (some which still portray a “frameless” appearance).

» Semi Frameless

Using Stainless Steel posts and “spider clamps” or glass clamps, we are able to custom design Stainless posts to suit individual requirements thus being able to create a unique design that will set your project apart,

» Semi Frameless

Using aluminum posts powder coated to suit, commonly.

Where possible we always try to use 316 grade Stainless Steel for all our fittings. Even though this gives us the best resilience against rust and tea leaving on the stainless we also treat every job with a protectant that increases this resilience.

Tips for Glass Balustrade

  1. If you decide to go ahead and have frameless glass balustrade install at you new housing project, we always suggest a meeting prior to getting to far into the project, that way we can discuss any special requirements that we need to install the balustrade of you design.
  2. We use and recommend “Vitroglaze” coatings to all our glass installations and this is always best done at time of installation, and whene Stainless Steel is used we also recommend a coating for the stainless as well.
  3. Once your balustrade has been installed it is common for cleaners to come along and you acid to wash the tiled surfaces down, We do NOT recommend this as it can effect the properties of the stainless steel and associated components, and may require the removal and replacement of the hardware.
